Prison Ministry
My name is Dave Meade. I was in prison. I received a two year sentence, as I was taken from the courtroom that day in handcuffs, I looked at my life thinking that I wouldn't see outside again.
I went through the regular entrance formalities at the state prison.
I felt empty and alone. I didn't believe that there could be a God. I not only was in prison, but I was also in the prison of sin. For years I had mocked spiritual things, used God's name in vain, and laughed at the thought of any spiritual accountability.
There I was, in prison for two years and also condemned to a spiritual death. (Revelation 20:15)
After I got out, I lived another 23 years in sin - then I found God.
God loved me.
John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
I realized that I was a sinner.
Romans 3:23 states "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
I realized that I deserved Hell.
Romans 6:23(a) "For the wages of sin is death,"
I realized that I could be forgiven.
Romans 6:23(b) "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
I bowed my head that day and asked God to forgive my sin and save my soul.
I prayed:
Dear Lord,
Forgive my sins and save my eternal life. Help me to live for you.
Amen
GUESS WHAT? HE DID!!
And He will do the same for you. Just pray the above prayer with all your heart and you too can be released from the poison of sin.
I have been saved for over 15 years now. I'm out of prison in both cases and I expect to spend eternity in Heaven, based on the Bible, God's word. John 10:27-29. 1 John 5:11-13.
